This one was an 8′ tall dry stone wall, in a narrow location, originally built 200 years ago, from 500 to 1,000 pound boulders. For years, the wall was in slow motion collapse, but how to repair it? There was no way to get any heavy equipment into that narrow space and therefore no contractors were interested in doing the work. But when I came on the scene, my answer was simple: I’ll build a gantry crane.
